While I thoroughly enjoy having a demanding full time job, sometimes I struggle with balancing other aspects of my life. {hence, the lack of posts lately} I'm constantly trying to work on this, and recently it seems like my go-to "getaway" and place of relaxation from everything else going on, is none other than lovely wine country in Napa/Sonoma. 

Here's to trying to achieve a constant, healthy balance!

Went to a fun concert last week with the boyfriend. With each of our busy schedules, it had been a while since we went on an actual date! {not counting the usual mid-week dinner rendezvous we have} It's great to be busy with work, but like everything else a healthy balance is always oh so necessary! And spending quality time with special people, is the perfect balance for me! =)

I spent this last weekend down in SoCal visiting the parentals and taking care of some business. And of course, my luck would be that the weekend I decide to go down there, the weather happened to be cooler and overcast, much like SF. [Talk about bringing the weather with me.] However, since I'm used to dressing for cooler SF weather, I always, instinctively, make sure to pack a few layers, i.e a light sweater, scarf, etc., even when I know I'll be in warmer weather. This time around it worked out perfect.

Picked up these fun heels from Zara a while back. I love how they managed to incorporate some of my current fave elements, snake print, neon, and color blocking, without being too over the top. And did I mention how comfy they are? The perf weekend shoe.

Took a road trip Friday evening to the ever warm & sunny L.A. {already missing the weather} and met up with a lovely cousin of mine that was visiting from Mexico. Enjoyed some much needed family time and spent a beautiful Easter Sunday afternoon with cousins, aunts, and uncles.

By far, one of my favorite pastimes is wine tasting. Any chance I get to go wine tasting I'm on it. {and oh do I get a lot of chances!} I'm lucky enough to live close to Napa, where great food and fantastic wine are abundant. Over the weekend I headed up there, quite spontaneously, for a quickie 1 day trip and discovered one of my favorite wineries thus far. I'm almost hesitant to share it, as I selfishly want to keep it as my little secret. But fine, I guess I'll be nice...

Soooo, if you're ever in Napa and want to experience a lovely wine tasting session far away from all the crowds, you must swing by Venge Vineyards. Situated along the quieter Silverado Trail, this by appointment only, winery offers a delicious line-up of reds, gorgeous views, and privacy that tends to be rare when wine tasting. Looking forward to my next trip up there!
